Dear President Fox;

On behalf of the 54,000 members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), I am writing you to protest in the strongest terms the violent military operation you have launched against the teachers and people of Oaxaca in the past two days.

A few days ago, protestors against the notoriously corrupt administration of Governor Ulises Ruiz, as well as observers, were shot and murdered by off-duty local officials and police. Your response, rather than to ensure that the assassins were brought to justice, has been to use violent military force on behalf of Governor Ruiz and his cronies.

Mr. President, CUPW cannot accept such ruthless repression, especially since it is being carried out by a NAFTA partner. We urge you to end this operation immediately.

Mr. President, the whole world is watching.

Sincerely,

Deborah Bourque, National President

		<description>20 People Protest Seattle Mexican Consulate Over Oaxaca

20 people protested the death of Brad Will and other protestors killed in Oaxaca by the police. They handed out flyers from 3 to 5pm and held signs denouncing the police actions in Oaxaca and remembering Brad Will, a cameraman for NYC Indymedia who was killed on Saturday at a barricade by local police. Protestors called for the removal of Federal Police from Oaxaca and recognition of the APPO as the legitimate voice of Oaxaca's citizens. More protestors were expected to arrive at 6pm for another protest. There will also be another protest at the consulate on Thursday. Details will be posted on Seattle Indymedia. Please attend!

		<description>Mexican consulate (Indianapolis) stormed

A large solidarity demonstration invaded the Mexican consulate this morning.

By some indiana anarchists

Anarchists acted in solidarity with Brad Will and with the continuing struggle in Oaxaca.

Anarchists in Indianapolis invaded the Mexican consulate at 11 am this morning, chanting "solidarity means attack, for Brad/Oaxaca we will fight back!" and passing out flyers explaining the action. The office was shut down for 15 minutes until word was received that police reinforcements were arriving. At one point during the demonstration, consulate officials approached the masked demonstrators and attempted to initiate a dialoge. Anarchists responded by refusing to speak with them and informing them that, as employees of the Mexican state, they were also complicit in the crimes being committed in Oaxaca. Afterwards, the protest dispersed safely with no arrests.
