Solidarity with Oaxaca in Phoenix, Arizona

PAC writes: OAXACA IS NOT ALONE:
The Phoenix Anarchist Coalition supports the people’s struggle in Oaxaca, Mexico!

A call to all Phoenix area residents to converge on the Mexican Consulate on Monday, November 20, as people all over the world will be out in the streets supporting the people’s struggle against the forces of repression and murder in Oaxaca!

WHERE: The Mexican Consulate, located in Phoenix at 1990 W. Camelback Rd, in between 19th Ave. and the I-17 freeway. Bring your art, signs and banners.

WHEN: Meet at the consulate at 10:30am, on Monday, November 20 2006.

The Zapatista Army of National Liberation issued a call to action shortly after a brutal attack on Oaxacan demonstrators by right-wing paramilitaries. At least nine people have been killed during the five months of rebellion, as the Mexican government desperately tries to smash the people’s movement and organizations, and reinstall the oppressive governor of Oaxaca, Ulises Ruiz. The Phoenix Anarchist Coalition (PAC) asks all individuals and groups who are concerned with the violation of human rights in Oaxaca to join us on Monday. We will mobilize to send a message to the Mexican government that they cannot continue to kill the poor whenever they stand up for their rights, and that they will have to face international resistance if they expect to continue terrorizing movements demanding freedom and justice.

PAC supports the demands of the Zapatistas in their call to action for Oaxaca, they are as follows:

“Ulises Ruiz out of Oaxaca!

Immediate withdrawal of the occupying federal forces from Oaxaca!

Immediate and unconditional freedom for all detainees!

Cancel all arrest warrants!

Punish the murderers!

Justice!
Freedom!
Democracy!”

In revolutionary solidarity,
