Presentation with Videos in Berkeley

Three Bay Area activists (Carolina Dutton, Mary Ann Tenuto, and Colombe Chappey) will give an update on their recent visits to Oaxaca and Chiapas. They will report on the increased number of kidnappings, disappearances, and beatings of APPO (Popular Assembly of the People of Oaxaca) members; the New Year’s encuentro between the Zapatistas and the people of the world in Chiapas; and an analysis of the impact of the social movements on the economic and political situation in Mexico.
