Teacher from Oaxaca in Oakland Saturday

Fernando Mendoza, a teacher from Oaxaca and APPO delegate, will speak at the HQ of the Oakland teachers union, Saturday, October 28th at 3:00pm.

Since May 22, teachers in Oaxaca have been on strike to protect public education and to oppose a corrupt local government. Their struggle has been supported by community groups in Oaxaca, and has developed into a social struggle pitting the people of Oaxaca against a repressive state.
